PARKER KEMPTON DEAD
Dies at his home at Adams, Ill - Interment in Ottawa

P. S. Kempton died this morning of blood poisoning at his home at Adams.  Mr. Kempton injured his left knee about two weeks ago while engaged in loading tile.  He treated the injury himself, thinking the pain was rheumatism.  Last Monday he sent to Streator for medical attention and when the doctor arrived he found Mr. Kempton's pulse at 140, and his temperature at 105.  Blood poisoning must have set in shortly afterwards, causing the patient's death.

The deceased was about 37 years of age and is survived by a wife and two children.  Mrs. Kempton was formerly Miss Lizzie Funk.  She is a daughter of John Funk, who is now a resident of this city, but who is a member of the firm of Funk & Smith, proprietors of the Santa Fe elevator.  Mr. Funk and family at one time lived on a farm located at the southeastern outskirts of Streator.

Mr. Kempton was well known in Ottawa and Streator, he having been in charge of the commercial department of the High school at the latter place for several terms.  He was a gentleman of high character and splendid education.  He left Streator about seven years ago and went to Adams, where he has since been engaged in manufacturing tile and brick.

The remains will be brought to Streator on the Three-1 passenger train at noon on Wednesday.  The funeral services will be conducted at the Park church at 1 o'clock, and at 2:35 the remains will be brought to Ottawa for interment.
