Looking for any info on desendants of Michael Harvey. He died Oct. 29, 1934.
His wife was Mary (Reece) Harvey. found an obituary that says he was long
time resident of long point, but other info i have says he has also lived in
streator and manville area. my grandfather, Edward Harvey, born in Lacon IL.
was a son of Mike and Catherine Harvey. Catherine was Mike's first wife. He
later married Mary Reece. Any info would be greatly appreciated so it could

I am seeking information on the ancestry of Helen Person/Pierson Erickson.
She was born Jan. 13, 1840 in Mission Township, LaSalle Co, IL. She married
Torkel Erickson in LaSalle Co in March, 1858. She died May 11, 1917 in
Dayton, LaSalle Co, IL. Her death certificate claimed her parents were Henry
Pierson and Caroline Johnson, both born in Norway. She may actually have
been the daughter of Helge (Henry?) Larsen Vatnem and Kari (Caroline)
Olsdatter Heskja. Caroline probably remarried in 1842, after Helen's birth,
to Ole Pearson. I would be interested in hearing from anyone with

Am researching Bridget Bollan (born 1864 and died 1943) who married James
McDermott in Chicago in 1890, then lived in LaSalle. His parents were
Patrick McDermott and ? Healy of Ireland. Her parents were John Bollan and
Mary Murray of Ireland. Mary Bollan later (1883) moved to Woodhull, Henry
Co., Il. The McDermott children were Willie, James, Frank and Genevieve (my
husband's mother-born 1900). Also in LaSalle is my husband's paternal
family. Boleslaw Gatza (born 1870 and died 1940) married Elinor (Elinora)
Spayer. They lived in LaSalle. Elinor's mother was a Walloch (Waloch). Their
children were Agnes, Sophie, Helen, Evelyn, Eleanor, Henry, Theodore, Frank,
and Walter (my husband's father-born 1898). Boleslaw was known as Jake. He
worked as a spragger in the mines and later drove a feed wagon and then a

I am trying to find information on Henry Ross and Lillie Louise Meyer Ross.
Henry was born 1885 in Il. or 1887 in North Dakota. I am going with the Il
place. He married Lillis Ross 1908 in LaSalle Co. Her parents were Henry
William Meyer and Louise Cecillia Mueller. They came to the U.S. from
Holzminden, Germany some where between 1881 and 1888. Lilli was born June 5,
1888 in LaSalle Co. All I have on Henry is the 2 birth dates and that he was
killed in Galesburg, Il. on Dec. 21, 1931. Henry and Lillie had 4 daughters,
all born in LaSalle Co. These are my granparents, but all Mom can remember
is that Henry was an orphan. There is no obit to be found on him. So no help
there. Any one with information would be appreciated.

Looking for the Kellys who lived in LaSalle at the t turn of the last
century. Father was John Kelly Sr. who died Nov.1, 1897 age 65 years. Son
John Kelly Jr. died at age 30 years 12-08-93. He left a wife Hannah Murphy
Kelly and daughter Mary (Mamie)about 3 years old. Mary Kelly was my
grandmother and it is believed her father died in a train accident. His
mother was Catherine Kelly who lived to be 70 years old and a sister also
named Catherine Kelly. They are all buried in St. Vincent's Cemetary in
LaSalle with a Patrick Kelly who I have no knowledge of his relationship to
them. Hannah Kelly and John Jr. were married in 1889 in St. Patrick's
Church. She was the daughter of William and Mary Murphy. William was a miner
and her brothers and sisters were Egbert, James,Ellen, Katherine and

My PEARSON line also had strong ties to Illinois and La Salle County at
about the same time. Henry and Delilah (WILLIAMSON) PEARSON, my
gg-grandparents, were married in Ohio in 1844 but moved to La Salle County.
Their second through eighth children (Sarah, Angeline S, Evander W, Ellen J,
James L, Dellra, and Louis U) were all born in Mendota, La Salle IL between
1847 and 1866 where Henry died on 10/27/1870. Delilah died 12/5/1912 in
Sulphur Springs, Cloud, KS. Henry was one of 9 siblings born in Ohio to
James PEARSON of South Carolina and Tamer Jane (CAMMACK) JAY her second
husband. Henry and Delilah's first-born son, my g-grandfather Michael Cover
PEARSON (b 8/3/1845 Ohio d 1912?) married Anna TURNER (b 1848) in La Salle
County on 12/25/1866. Michael and Anna appear in Meridian KS in 1870. I know
from family stories Michael was a traveling minister and he and Anna were
said to have had 11 children. I have been able to identify some of the 11
names but am not sure of birth dates or locations except for a few. My
grandfather, James Mark PEARSON was born in Sulphur Springs Kansas in 1879
maybe Michael and Anna moved there to visit his widowed mother who may have
moved there after Henry's death in 1870 or the other way around since
Michael and Anna were in KS in 1870 also. There are several WILLIAMSON's
listed in Cloud County KS. A daughter, Lillie D. PEARSON Married E. ALLEN
MARTIN on 5/4/1892 (his 2nd, her 1st) in La Salle that was witnessed by a
sister Belle PEARSON. Lillie and E. A. Martin raised James Mark Pearson as
an orphan for some number of years. E. ALLEN MARTIN's parents Richard MARTIN
and Minerva ALLEN were also married in La Salle County Illinois on 5/5/1861.
Other siblings of Michael and Anna may have been Nathan (b 1883/5
Miltonvale, Cloud, KS) Inez, Hattie/Hallie, Floe, Winnie and Hazel (KAYS).
James moved to Idaho in about 1903/4 after serving in the Navy from 1900 -
1903/4 and was married there in 1905 to Myrtle (Pearson) and in 1908/9 to
Zilpha (SIMONTON) daughter of William L SIMONTON and granddaughter to
Benjamin and Anne SIMONTON. His brother Nathan joined him for awhile at some
time after 1905 so I am not sure how many siblings were born or married in
La Salle IL or Cloud KS Counties.

On May 9, 1885, Peleg A. HALL (of Ottawa, Illinois) received a Patent for
39.97 acres of land in Polk County, FL. Peleg is an unusual name and I
suspect that he was the son of Robert Clark HALL and Penelope PIPPIN, who
was born in Greene County, AL in the 1820s. Peleg's land is recorded to have
been located as follows: Aloq. Parts SESE, Sec/Blk 22, Twp. 29-S, Range
23-E. Does anyone recognize Peleg? Does anyone know what became of Peleg, or
his children - if there were any? A review of this site has turned up
nothing to even indicate that Peleg was ever a resident, but then, he did
not disappear from AL until after 1860. Any help would be appreciated.

On a death certificate for my GGGrandmother Helen (KETCHUM) LAMAR, it staes
she was born in Vermillionsville, Illinois. I can't find Vermillionsville
anywhere. I was told that a book stated that Vermillionsville was once in
LaSalle County. Does anyone know if this is true? I have Helen KETCHUM
married Charles Albert Lamar. Helen was born in Vermillionsville, Illinois
July 13, 1854. Her parents were listed as Walter P. and Sarah KETCHUM. I

This is not really a query. I purchased a small photograph and an old work
ID card at a flea market in Tampa FL which I would like to reunite with the
family. The photograph is of two young boys named Fred and John ELLIOTT and
is marked "P.W.S. Rawson Photographer in Peru and La Salle Illinois" The
work ID card shows a much older John C. Elliott working at Firecraft Door
Company in Chicago and contains a photo of Mr. Elliott, his date and place
of birth, plus height, weight, hair color, eye color and Social Security

Just recently learned my husband's great-grandmother, Marie SCHUMACHER, was
b. 1867 Bergheim, Alsace FR. Her parents were Joseph SCHUMACHER and
Francoise LISZ; her grandfather also was Joseph SCHUMACHER. Aboard ship to
USA with ultimate destination of LaSalle Co. IL, she met the man she would
marry--Emile DONTENVILLE/DONDANVILLE. After marriage and the birth of their
first son, they migrated to Pasadena CA. One of their sons was named Carl
(Charles). The 3 are buried at the San Gabriel Mission in CA. My husband's
great-grandfather, Emile DONTENVILLE/DONDANVILLE was b.abt 1861 in the
village of St. Maurice, Alsace, FR. He followed his brother Wallace
DONTENVILLE to the USA--aboard ship from (port of Lehavre?)FR>NY he met a
young woman, Marie SCHUMACHER, abt age 17 who was headed for La Salle Co.
IL. He found a job there to be near her. They md. abt 1886-early 1887; their
first child, Almond J. DONDANVILLE was b. in January 1888 in La Salle Co.
IL. The family left for Pasadena CA (Los Angeles Co.) in late 1888 and
resided there until their deaths. Emile DONDANVILLE and wife Marie
SCHUMACHER, plus sons Carl J. DONDANVILLE and Edward August DONDANVILLE are
buried at the San Gabriel Mission in Los Angeles Co. CA. Her parents were
Joseph SCHUMACHER and Francoise LISZ. Her father was a winegrower-maker.
Marie's brother, Eugen SCHUMACHER and wife Christina LUTZ, were md. 1900 in
Dubuque IA. I have recently been in touch with one of their descendants, who
lives in Madison WI. My husband's grandfather and son of Emile & Marie
(SCHMACHER) DONDANVILLE -- Edward August DONDANVILLE, md. Leona Edith STOKES
and raised their children in Alhambra/San Gabriel CA: Robert August
